The Awesome’s teachers love her. Not trying to be a show off. But, they really do. And why? Because she is the strict rule following 100% make the teacher happy kid. Is this because she wants to be on the good sider of the teacher? Nope. It’s just how The Awesome views all other adults except Mommy and Daddy.
Which is why this article about something called (and this sounds made up) “After School Restraint Collapse” was a breath of fresh air. Our solution – food!!!! From the time she comes home and for the next hour or so, I am shoving food in front of her and she eagerly enjoys it! Apparently, she is using all the energy during school hours to make everyone happy. And if I want the evening to be happy, she needs to recharge!

Whoever came up with “dinner time” must have had a really odd kid. We no longer have “dinner time” in our house. We have “get your energy back time” and if that means a smaller, faster “official” dinner, fine. What counts is keeping thing going in a positive direction. Do yourself a favor and forget the formal dinner time if you have kids, especially if you have kids with special challenges.
